BABE 2017: BRISTOL ARTISTS BOOK EVENT April 1st + 2nd

Sat 1st April 11-6 + Sun 2nd April 11-5

#BABE2017

Sat April 1st 11-5 and Sun April 2nd 11-6

Its back! The sixth biennial festival of artist book making, featuring the work of bookmakers and small presses from around the world. Since 2007, BABE has established a great reputation as a relaxed and friendly event to meet and talk to book artists about their work and buy works of art. With more than 80 makers taking part, and prices starting from just a few pounds, there will be something for everyone. Expect performances, interventions, talks and workshops across the weekend too. Featuring artists from all over the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Norway and South Korea. Organised with Sarah Bodman (Centre for Fine Print Research, University of the West of England) and Tom Sowden (Bath School of Art and Design, Bath Spa University).

Breaking News: In ROAMING ROOM Thurs 25th Aug 2016 6-8pm, Fri 26-Sat 27 12-6

This is the last of our residencies

THE END IS NIGH!

You are invited to:

Between something and nothing

EILIS KIRBY

at

ROAMING Room

on Thursday 25th August 6-8pm

Based in Bristol, Éilis Kirby is the sole proprietor of EAK Enterprises.

Her intelligently playful approach belies a profound underpinning of ideas, drawing together the visual, literature and the spoken word.

From the poetic to the pragmatic, the imaginative to the instructive and the intangible to the informational,

EAK aims to bring a fresh eye to the everyday, the overlooked and the discarded. Its ambition being to draw attention to the material

and to the power of things, and thus promote of a more questioning and thoughtful approach to living, through the disruption of fixed lines of thought.

Our hope is that this will lead to greater personal fulfilment and, perhaps, eventually, the reversal of climate change and world peace.

We would be delighted if you can come.
